I love having everything clean and organized, but often life happens and I get behind. That’s definitely the case right now as I’m nearing the end of my pregnancy. I realized the shower has not been scrubbed down for longer than I care to admit. So when I saw this simple 2 ingredient homemade shower cleaner popping up all over Pinterest, I decided it was worth a try. Best of all, it fits right in with my goal of getting rid of all the unhealthy chemical cleaners in our home and replacing them with more natural and green cleaning alternatives, like how we now use vinegar in a spray bottle for the majority of our household cleaning. Since I have some leftover Blue Dawn Dish Soap and always have warehouse club size bottles of White Vinegar on hand for cleaning, it’s time to experiment and give this simple Homemade Shower Cleaner Recipe a go.
To make my Magic Shower Cleaner, I didn’t bother heating up the vinegar like the original article recommends. I simply mixed equal parts of blue Dawn dish soap with white vinegar in an old garden spray bottle and shook it vigorously to mix. I sprayed my new homemade shower cleaner all over our shower and left it sit for about 20 minutes, while I cleaned the rest of the bathroom. I went back to my shower and literally wiped away all the dirt and soap scum with just a washcloth, reviving my shower back to a brand new sparkling clean...amazing! So I would say this Homemade Shower Cleaner truly is magic and oh so simple to make.
I love finding new simple solutions that actually work. I’m definitely going to keep a bottle of this Magic Homemade Shower Cleaner on hand to use on a regular basis. Next I want to try making this recipe with Seventh Generation dish soap or another natural brand of dish soap, hopefully it works well too.
Anybody else find a great new cleaning, organizing, or project idea on Pinterest? I'm definitely pinning too much and need to start doing more, especially if they all work as well as this one!
