Boots & Kimos Homestyle Kitchen – Home of the Famous Macadamia Nut Sauce on Pancakes!

We found Boots & Kimo’s Homestyle Kitchen on our last trip to Oahu Hawaii, and just one breakfast visit quickly landed it on our short list of must visit Oahu restaurants.

Their claim to fame is Kimo’s Famous Macadamia Nut Sauce on His Onolicious Pancakes. We’re talking a homemade, one of a kind, white Macadamia Nut Sauce smothered generously on a sizable stack of fluffy pancakes. White sauce on pancakes, sounds crazy right?! I assure you, just one bite of the warm decadent Mac-Nut Sauce will have you swooning and quickly joining the clean plate club and Boots & Kimo’s fan club, along with us. The smooth sauce is unlike anything I’ve ever tried on a pancake as it provides a creamy frothy goodness that is so rich but perfectly complements the large stack of pancakes. Of course, you could slather this sauce on an old shoe and it would probably taste divine!

They also serve up a great selection of eggs and make a mean omelet filled with a variety of melted cheese, meat, and fresh local veggies that can stand up to the pancakes as a tasty lower carb alternative.

Boots & Kimo’s moved to a new location that is updated, but still on the small side as their line of eager customers wraps around the perimeter of the restaurant waiting for a table. It’s worth the drive and the wait just to try their famous Macadamia Nut Sauce. It’s also worth mentioning that they accept takeout orders, which we may try next time.
