After Grandma’s Free Birthday Lunch at Shady Maple this week, we stopped by the Farm Market to purchase enough groceries until our vacation. We loaded up on lots of fresh fruits and veggies and the in house smoked chicken.
Boneless Smoked Chicken Breasts: $6.36
Yams: $1.03
Oranges: $1.58
Vidalia Spring Onions: $.99
Red Cabbage: $.90
Swiss Chard: $1.79
Ginger Root: $.51
Broccoli Crowns: $1.43
2 Unsweetened Flake Coconut: $2.23 (Used BOGO Coupon in weekly specials email)
Farm Market Total: $16.82
I love the affordable prices at Farmers Markets on fresh, local fruits and veggies. It’s also fun to find unusual items that I’ve never tried before, but look tasty or interesting. On this shopping trip, the Swiss Chard looked really fresh so I purchased a bunch for the first time. I don’t even know how to prepare Swiss Chard yet, but after reading about its health benefits I’m going to give it a try.
